I’ve recently had the good fortune to sit down with Peter Mastroianni of Rentvesting to talk about property investment. Peter encourages a brand new model of home ownership on his website and he wants to share his tips on successful investing with our readers.

Peter’s heroes in life are people that we can all look up to. He is a fan of Elon Musk’s innovative and creative approach to the world. He loves Mark Bouris’ because he believes that The Apprentice host could offer some amazing business finance pointers and he’s also keen on Jim Rohn who he’d really love to share the wisdom of. I wish him well with that and today I’d like to share Peter’s own wisdom with you:

Peter’s 3 Tips For Successful Investing

Peter says that if you do what you love then success will follow but that you can help that process along a little by using these 3 strategies:

  1. Plan your investing – if you know what you want to do and why you want to do it and have a solid plan to execute, it’s much easier to get what you want. Most investors aren’t “lucky”. They’ve thought about their lives and their wealth and set out to get what they want.
  2. Diversify your investing – this is tricky early but the more wealth that you generate, the more you should be looking to reduce your risks by spreading your investments in different areas. It’s rare for every sector of the economy to get hit at once; you can keep your calm if you have a broad portfolio when things go wrong and make decisions that make you wealthier too. Also it’s worth noting that you can diversify your property portfolio by investing in to different areas or even states.
  3. Think long-term, always – too many investors worry about tiny changes from day-to-day in a market. It makes them nervous and more inclined to pull their money out before it’s had a chance to make them money. Share prices, house prices, gold prices, etc. all recover in the long run. Don’t panic, focus on your goals and not on a little change in the weather.

Peter’s Philosophy Is Simple – Invest In Property

Peter says he thinks property is a good investment because, “When I was little my grandfather used to take me for a drive to collect the rent. We would turn up at someone’s door, knock, they’d answer, hand over some money and we’d leave. It left quite the impression on me because if I was asked what I wanted to be when I was older I would always reply with ‘a landlord.’ Some goals just don’t change…”

He did just that too. He rented his own home so that he could invest in others and now his strategy has paid real dividends for him and for those that he loves.

It was this philosophy which had Peter deciding to launch Rentvesting. He wanted to show that wealth from property is something that can be achieved by anyone as long as they approach investing with the right mindset. Peter’s power is his ability to walk people through this process. He’s made it his mission to help others achieve a similar kind of financial future to the one he has made for himself.

He says that his perfect clients are those that are able to “rethink” what they know about home ownership. It’s those clients that, he says, are incredibly motivated to become wealthy and that means they are able to focus on growing the largest possible asset base with the money that they can afford at any point in time.

That doesn’t mean living a life of incredible austerity but rather really thinking about what matters to you and what might best wait for tomorrow while you build your asset base, today.

Peter says that his biggest win from Rentvesting in his own life, has been the freedom to turn his back on the 9 to 5 grind. He says that this allows him to fill his days with activities which stretch him both in a personal and a professional manner. His life has become one of growth.  It’s a life that he believes his clients want too and he knows that they will get there if they use a Rentvesting strategy to invest in property that will provide for all their financial needs in the future.

Now Peter’s showing the world how to rethink what home ownership really means and how to make money from property investment. He wants people to maintain a lifestyle while making affordable investments that contribute to their future wealth. You can find out more about Peter’s philosophy here at his website and on Facebook too.  You can also catch the podcast that I did with Peter where he shares his knowledge in person.
